The main difference between the 2 BDU is' if ACU 's is the design and pocket and BDU' s areas is unabated ACU 'sewing; relative s replaced with Velcro. Pockets on the ACU 's is the most convinient for convetional and use tactical. Also a last GRANDE diff is BDU 's have the old model of woodland and ACU' s new model has a digital camo (very lightly colored), made basically for urban warfare. I suggest the new ACU 's but people have different opinions in order to wait for more answers before they take my advice. Hope that this aid.

BDU 's is the old model and keys green / brown camo to. ACU 's is the new uniform with a "Greyish" digital model with the closures and Velcro fasteners. I can 't you elasticity of a recommendation (I don' t what your cousin is looking) - but you can go to virtually all the military surplus store and show it off you (you know who that what your cousin is trying once you see).
